As much as we love puppies, something must be done about the rampant
breeding going on in Kern County and other areas..  There are over 100
puppies (unweaned or very young) in the Bakersfield shelter as I type this.
There are not enough foster homes for them all.  Many will start and end
their lives in a concrete run.  The momma dogs do their best, only to watch
as their pups are taken away to die, and then, they too lose their lives.

The dogs on this page are lucky, they will be allowed to raise their families
in a secure, quiet location with plenty of food & love.  The pups will recieve
proper vaccinations and then will be spayed/neutered (as will their moms)
so they will not contribute to the over population problem.

Please spay and neuter.  Thank you.
Our Nursery
Black Hawk came from a high kill shelter very, very pregnant!    She delivered her pups on February 5th.   She ended up having
SEVEN puppies!   2 are Black & white spotted, 2 are black with a touch of white & 3 are black with tan markings.

Black Hawk is mostly Dachshund, but not purebred.  Since we got her in her last weeks of pregnancy, we have absolutely no
idea who dad was.
Loosey, a pom mix was brought to us with eight 6 week old pups!
Her owners said she bred with their Shih Tzu.  The pups were
born on Jan 6th.

Two of the pups are extremely small & weak, we don't know yet
if they will be able to overcome their poor start & thrive.  The
other six are extremely healthy & just adorable!
Ambi, Righton & Lefty
3 adorable Lab/Aussie/? pups came to
us when they were 8 weeks old.
They are scheduled to be spayed on
February 27th & will be available at that
time.
They should be large dogs, weighing
most likely between 40 and 60 pounds.
All three are girls!
