| Rescue Angels |
| Rescue groups rely on donations to meet the expenses associated with rescuing animals. Many dogs come in needing extensive veterinary care. The average cost to vet a normal dog with no extraordinary conditions is aproximately $100.00 - $150.00 (even with the great discounts my vet gives rescue) Many dogs need special food, or special living conditions. There are blankets to buy, collars, leashes, food dishes, piddle pads & other supplies which all add up to usually exceed the adoption fees. Several very special people have helped us to meet those needs. They are our "rescue angels". We are deeply grateful to these people for their generosity. | A very special Birthday party for a very special Teen! |
| While most young girls entering their teen years ask for make up & clothes, Dani (front right) asked her friends to bring items for our rescue INSTEAD of presents! The girls donated close to 200 pounds of dog food plus leashes, collars, harnesses, dog toys, flea soap,treats, brushes and a dog bed! (George says thanks for the bed he has claimed it) As an activity for the party the girls also made home cooked dog treats! (and gave me the recipe to make more!) |
| The girls brought their donations out to the Short 'N Sweet ranch & had a chance to love on the dogs they are helping. Non-cash donations of these items as well as exercise pens, kennels and other doggy items really help the dogs in our care get the "extras" that help them feel special as well as help provide the basic items they need during their stay. We are so impressed that Dani chose to give rather than recieve for her birthday this year! Thanks Dani! |
